✨Chiefswood National Historic Site is all set for our annual open house and birthday celebration honouring E. Pauline Johnson!
Special thanks to for the wonderfully delicious charcuterie boards and also to for the talented creativity in cookies & cupcakes!

✨ Our free open house featuring a selected reading by local author Cindy Martin as well as poetry reading by Ellie Joseph will be happening from 2pm to 4pm today! Everyone is welcome ☺️

Born on March 10th, 1861, Pauline became famous travelling & speaking to crowds across oceans & continents from her beginnings here at Chiefswood National Historic Site.

We welcome you to celebrate the life, career & creativity of this Mohawk poetess with poetry reading, a reading by a local children’s book author, a free tour of the homestead, and light refreshments - including cake in honour of her birthday!

Join us at for an early birthday celebration honouring Mohawk poetess E. Pauline Johnson!

Saturday, March 7th from 2pm to 4pm we will enjoy readings of poetry and short selections from a children’s book written by a local author. Light refreshments and delicious desserts will be available and guests are invited to tour the home of the Johnson family to learn more about her roots and upbringing here at Six Nations!

All are welcome to this free open house with no advanced registration required. We look forward to seeing you here at Chiefswood National Historic Site!

We will be paying tribute to the famous Mohawk poetess who was born on March 10, 1861! Featuring light refreshments, live poetry readings, an artist showcase, and of course - dessert!! 🧁🍰🎂

We’ve just finished the Taste of Traditions holiday tours and will hold the final Christmas Tours by Donation tomorrow in our partnership with 🎄 We would like to thank for their exterior decorating services, nya:weh & for the delicious treats each weekend, and for the cutest gift jars of Chiefswood honey we’ve given to tour-goers!! 🎁 Thank you also to all of our visitors for their interest & enthusiasm! 🎄🌟 The second Taste of the Holidays tours in our Christmas partnership with took place today! ✨ Guests were treated to delicious sugar cookies done in beautiful style by including a special design showcasing this festive partnership between our historic sites. In addition, prepared delectable mincemeat tarts that were so good we (almost) couldn’t stop eating them! Nya:weh to our local vendors for bringing these tasty Christmas treats to the homestead to help us celebrate the season in style!🎄❄️🌟
