Ilona Brodi - Ilona BDS Illustrations Whimsical artwork that adds a bit of light hearted fun to any room! Ideas begin with a simple sketch, followed by several modifications.

All my illustrations stem from an inspired event or a quirky idea and best described as "whimsical". I then transfer my final image to whatever surface I am inspired to create upon. These include illustration board, wood blocks or corrugated cardboard. I use mixed media for my pieces, primarily acrylic wash and pencil crayon and on occasion India Ink or glitter when I feel the piece calls for it.

My use of the mixed medias adds depth and interest to every piece. Several of my original artwork is reproduced to print form. Each original is professionally photographed and then printed on carefully selected eco-friendly paper. They are then laminated front and back, (front is slightly textured with a matte finish) for UV protection and longevity. Back at my studio I hand cut 100% eco-friendly matte boards which frame each print and hand embellish each print with non-toxic, acid free glitter, my signature touch. They are then signed and numbered along side my logo on the back.
