Did you know the first museum in Biggar was in the basement of the library here in Biggar? Now the museum is in it's own building, and yet we still have hundreds of books! It's the Summer Book Sale! All books, CD's and puzzles for every age are here! We are asking only for a donation! Open Monday - Friday 9:00 to 5:00, closed 12:00 to 1:00 for lunch.

We are taking part in Culture Days this year with the new and improved "Biggar Culture Fest!" taking place at the Community Hall on September 27th from 1-5pm.

We are currently looking for volunteers for our main activity, the Culture Passport Game, who can represent one of the countries or cultures listed below. If you would like to represent a country not included in the list, we would love to have you join us as well!

The role of a Culture Ambassador will be to share either a story, game, custom or food sample of your choice from your country with visitors so that they can earn stamps to win prizes. It will be an exciting afternoon of making new friends through cultural exchange!

We will be closed on Wednesday, July 1 for Canada Day. See you Thursday July 2 for the grand opening of the Book Sale ...and we have loads this year!! Monday - Friday 9-5 closed for lunch 12:00 - 1:00. This photo was taken in 1927, I wonder if it was a Canada Day parade...no information on the back of the photo.

Graduates in 1958 in front of the brand new Biggar Composite School. This school was on the east side of the present day BCS2000 yard. There is a cairn on the corner there with some history of the schools.
