Bentley museum was delighted to welcome 2 grade 3 classes for a special visit focused on local history. Students explored exhibits, discovered artifacts from the past, and learned about the people, places, and events that have helped shape our community. Their curiosity, thoughtful questions and enthusiasm for learning made this visit a wonderful experience. It’s very encouraging to see young people developing an interest in local history and gaining an appreciation for the stories that connect us to our community’s past!

This treasured wedding dress from, dating back to 1877, made of silk worm silk was carefully restored through the generosity of the highly skilled and talented seamstress Kaylee Blixrud. Kaylee donated her time, expertise, materials and knowledge. With great attention to detail and respect for it’s history, she repaired a large tear and helped preserve the gown, ensuring that this remarkable piece of local heritage can be enjoyed by future generations. She did such a remarkable job that you can not tell that there had been any rips or tears to the garment. Her contribution is a lasting gift to the community and a testament to the value of sharing talents in the preservation of history. To learn more about this dress and our community history please visit the Bentley Museum!
