Today is a day to remember the children who were taken from their families and communities, honour Survivors and their families, and reflect on the ongoing impacts of residential schools.

Truth and reconciliation requires more than remembering- it asks us to listen, learn and take action.

The Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund offers a number or resources to help Canadians continue that learning, including recommended reading, educational materials, lesson plans and the ReconciliACTION Guidebook. Their resources provide opportunities to learn more about the history of residential schools and consider how we can contribute to reconciliation. https://downiewenjack.ca/

Hey Porchfesters! Enjoy music by Olivia and Emma at Glanmore National Historic Site, 257 Bridge St. E., from 12-1 P.M. You can catch the Porchfest Opening Ceremonies at Glanmore at 12:45 P.M before heading out to explore everything Porchfest has to offer!

Porchfest is all about neighbours, music, connection, and celebrating the wonderful character of East Hill. Come by, enjoy the music, and help us get the festivities started! Please note: the museum building is closed today. Go forth and ROCK THE PORCH!
