Bay de Verde Heritage Premises The Bay de Verde Heritage House was built in 1896 by Mr. John Blundon and family of Bay de Verde. Mr. The house was built to accommodate his lifestyle.

Blundon was a local merchant who owned schooners and traded along the coast. The structure of the house is a good example of merchant class Victorian housing built on a gable-ell plan with a five sided front porch and fine interior and exterior detailing. The house was donated by Mrs. Dorothy Blundon and family to the town of Bay de Verde on September 16, 1996, exactly 100 years after it was const

ructed. It is not preserved and used as a heritage house. Inside the heritage house you will find many articles which depict the history and culture of Bay de Verde. Along with approximately six hundred artifacts, some of the main features of the house are: the Baccalieu Island Interpretation Centre, the period dining room, the museum room, the merchant's bedroom, the whole servant's quarters and the attic. Family trees are also available for any family in Bay de Verde and the surrounding area.

Blundon Heritage House and Craft Shop will be closed Saturday August 29 th and Sunday August 30 th.
