** ESI AWARD RECIPIENTS 2026 - Non-profit sector **
This year marks the launch of the new Economic and Social Inclusion Award, recognizing people, organizations and partners across New Brunswick who are helping reduce poverty, strengthen economic and social inclusion, improve access to opportunities and services, and reduce the stigma associated with poverty. The inaugural awards were announced today in connection with the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, observed each year on October 17.
The Non-profit sector category recognizes organizations that play an essential role in communities across New Brunswick. They often work directly with people experiencing economic challenges, understand the immediate needs of their communities and help address the barriers people face.
Collaboration is especially important in this sector. By building strong partnerships, respecting the dignity of each person, creating opportunities, sharing resources and finding practical ways to reduce barriers to services, non-profit organizations can help more people and respond more effectively to community needs. These recipients show the difference community organizations can make through commitment, creativity and collaboration.
