Rest in Peace, Eric.

Eric, a champion of youth mental health, was kind enough to meet with us to offer advice as we were forming the idea for a peace museum.

Eric Windeler, Founder and longtime Executive Director of Jack.org, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, surrounded by family. Our thoughts are with the Windeler family at this difficult time.

After the loss of his son Jack to su***de in 2010, Eric dedicated his life to youth mental health. He was a tireless advocate for change and firm believer that young people deserve a seat at the table. His work has changed the lives of countless young people across Canada, empowering them to understand mental health, seek support, be there for one another, and advocate for change.

His legacy lives on through the community of mental health advocates and champions he inspired to build a better world.

To hear more from our CEO and Board Chair on Eric’s enduring legacy, visit jack.org/legacyofhope.

Our friends and neighbours are very active in the community garden. The regular meet up schedule is 10am to 12:30pm every Friday (although folk are here most days). Tomatoes, garlic, kale, rhubarb, and asparagus are all being planted.

A pleasure to see us make Kingston’s Whig Standard newspaper.

Earlier this year we were approached by Peace Quest to see if we could host their school-peace-education content. We were delighted to do so.

Here it is: https://canadianpeacemuseum.ca/web-archive
