Reception reminder!

Our September Art Show is already open, you can come in for a sneak peek.....AND, we're having a reception celebrating our September artists, and the unique connection of their work with our heritage, a perfect way to follow up the IPE.

Please join us ***Thursday, September 10, from 6–8 PM*** for the reception for our current art show, featuring Kate Tooke and Lana Schuster.

Expect animal portraits full of character, expressive abstract paintings full of colour and light, and a warm evening at the gallery with local art and community.

We'll interview the artists, and there will be a wonderful opportunity to ask your own questions of the artists and meet other art enthusiasts.

Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.

//Art Show Opening and Photo Exhibition Opening Reminders!//

HAPPY IPE WEEK, don't forget that this September, the Armstrong Spallumcheen Museum & Art Gallery is celebrating IPE Month with work by Kate Tooke and Lana Schuster, opening this Thursday, and a photo exhibition opening this Wednesday!

The reception for our art show this month isn't until the following week, September 10th, but you can come in from this Thursday and check out the art!

ART SHOW INFO:

Tooke’s "Animal Call" bring chickens, horses, dogs, and other familiar animals into close focus, showing them with humour, dignity, and unmistakable personality. Schuster’s "Where Light Remains" offers a different kind of connection to place, with expressive abstract paintings full of layered colour, movement, texture, and light.

These artists were selected for IPE Month because their work reflects the animals, landscapes, memories, and rural heritage that have long been part of the Interior Provincial Exhibition’s history.

PHOTO EXHIBIT INFO:

This year, the Museum & Art Gallery is also honoured to be the IPE Charity of Choice, with our art shows sponsored by the IPE, and a photo exhibit titled 'IPE Through The Ages' opening Wednesday in the Hassen Arena.

If you are downtown, even just walking by, we hope you will take a moment to appreciate the historical and artistic window displays created by our Arts Committee.

Our next exhibition opens on *September 3rd*, with a reception on *Thursday, September 10, from 6–8 PM*.

This show brings together the work of Kate Tooke and Lana Schuster — two artists with very different styles, but a shared ability to help us slow down and look more closely.

Kate’s animal portraits bring chickens, horses, dogs, and other familiar animals into close focus, full of humour, dignity, and personality. Lana’s abstract paintings are layered, expressive, and full of colour, suggesting gardens, trees, fields, skies, and remembered places.

We hope you’ll join us for the opening reception. All are welcome.
