Kate Tooke’s animal portraits invite us to look closely at the animals who share our lives — not just as subjects, but as beings full of presence, personality, humour, and spirit.

Her work brings chickens, horses, dogs, and other familiar animals into focus with warmth, care, and remarkable attention.

If you are downtown, even just walking by, we hope you will take a moment to appreciate the historical and artistic window displays created by our Arts Committee.

Their attention to detail in creating beautiful seasonal displays is stunning, and it can be easy to miss if you are in a rush.

Our next exhibition opens on *September 3rd*, with a reception on *Thursday, September 10, from 6–8 PM*.

This show brings together the work of Kate Tooke and Lana Schuster — two artists with very different styles, but a shared ability to help us slow down and look more closely.

Kate’s animal portraits bring chickens, horses, dogs, and other familiar animals into close focus, full of humour, dignity, and personality. Lana’s abstract paintings are layered, expressive, and full of colour, suggesting gardens, trees, fields, skies, and remembered places.

We hope you’ll join us for the opening reception. All are welcome.
