Emely Christiaens (28) sells art in the cosy and private setting of her own home, where the artworks - in consignment - from Belgian art collections are displayed and integrated. After years of experience in the art business, it allowed her to get acquainted with a lot of contemporary art collectors. Some of them trusted Emely with managing the collection in terms of administration, transport and

insurance. Her career really got going once she was allowed to sell works from this collection. Since 2013 Emely sells art and organises solo shows in her comfortable house in Sint-Martens-Latem. You can take all the time you want to enjoy the collection without any purchase obligation. This working method offers Emely the possibility to get acquainted with the collectors, which results in a stronger customer relationship. Really knowing what each collector is looking for plays a key part in being a successful art dealer .All Emely asks is that you make an appointment (by phone or via e-mail) before dropping by. Besides being an art dealer, Emely also organises expositions with young artists. There is a white-box gallery on the premises, called The Studio, in which works by young and emerging artists are shown. After the exposition the works are moved to her house, which allows visitors to see the works in a domestic and familiar setting. ‘People find it interesting to see how I combine art and design in my living room’, she says.
