After the desert‑like heat of the past few days, we dove into our collection and found something perfectly fitting to share with you. 🌞

These impressive Hausa camel riding boots from Nigeria (Dosso region) are made entirely of leather: thigh‑high in the front, knee‑high in the back. Designed to protect the rider from the burning sun while sitting on a camel’s back. 🐪

Early 20th century, yet still surprisingly relevant… especially after the weather we just had! 🥵

Our site - once the iconic Veranneman Art Gallery – is sometimes jokingly referred to as the shoe bunker. 🏛️ Understandable: with its lead-covered roof and clean, angular lines, the building has a somewhat fort‑like appearance.

But step inside… and you’ll find yourself in the paradise of every shoe lover. From rare icons to surprising stories, every display hides a piece of world history. 🤍

This particular original Air Jordan 1 from our collection is the real deal from 1985. It was purchased by a physical education teacher who only realized at home that the pair was one size too small. As a result, the sneakers remained untouched in their box for decades, becoming a true time‑capsule object. For collectors, this model is considered the holy grail: rare, mythical, and barely touched by time. 🙌
