CHARLOTTE PERRIAND — CITÉ CANSADO

The collectors were looking for the right piece, and I came across a beautiful and authentic example of Charlotte Perriand’s bookshelf for the Cité Cansado in Mauritania.

What I love in my work is exactly this: the passion of the search, the discipline of selecting only the right pieces, and the pleasure of understanding what truly matters to a collector — their taste, their collection, and the architecture they live with.

Finding the piece is only the beginning. Giving it the right place, in the right interior, and seeing it come alive again is what makes it meaningful.

This is, in many ways, what No Life Without Aesthetics means to me.

NEW ACQUISITION

Afra & Tobia Scarpa’s Africa dining set.

Warm wood, bold forms, strong lines — almost tribal in its rhythm and presence.

WHEN THE RIGHT PIECE FINDS THE RIGHT PLACE

For this collecting couple, I found an exceptional and historic table by Ado Chale — a piece that felt immediately right for their collection, their sensibility and the architecture of their home by Nicolas Schuybroek

That is what I love most: finding the piece that does not simply fill a space, but feels as if it was always meant to be there.

IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS

A light, a bar cart, an open door.

Sometimes, that’s all it takes to give a room its character.

WHEN TWO PASSIONS MEET

The most beautiful interiors often come from a shared passion.

A dialogue between a collector and an adviser, where exceptional pieces slowly find their place and give the space its soul.

Here, a remarkable Trunk Table by Joaquim Tenreiro, a Paulistana armchair by Jorge Zalszupin, and Alvar Aalto’s iconic Angel Wing lamp.

Different voices, brought together naturally.

This is what I love most about creating interiors: giving great design the space to shine. ✨

A century ahead of its time.

Poul Henningsen’s 1931 Grand Piano, its extraordinary matching stool, and his iconic 1927 floor lamp.

Three remarkable pieces, still strikingly modern today.

On view in Knokke, open daily until 6 September.

From Rio to New Hope — in perfect harmony.

With Poul Henningsen’s piano in the background, Brazilian and American design come together almost like a composition — different voices, different rhythms, yet a natural sense of balance.

Our summer exhibition continues in Knokke, open daily until 6 September.

Vico Magistretti for Venini

A play of geometry, balance and light.

Designed by Vico Magistretti for Venini, this lamp brings together the precision of modern Italian design and the extraordinary tradition of Murano glassmaking. Simple in form, yet remarkably sophisticated in presence.

On view in our current seaside exhibition, From Rio to New Hope, open daily until 6 September.

African art has been a lifelong passion of mine. I love using great furniture as a pedestal for African sculpture.

Here, a beautiful Hemba ancestor fragment from Zaire, formerly in the collection of the late Hélène Leloup, one of the great dealers and collectors of African art, sits on a Jules Wabbes console from 1968.

I love the contrast between the two. They are strong in completely different ways, but both have this incredible sense of emotion and soul.

On view in Knokke until 6 September.
