Some currents continue long after an exhibition has ended. 💙
During Inner Currents, DITI — Alix Ditisheim — brought more than her own work into Octopus Heart.
Her art begins in the streets of Brussels, where she collects torn posters, discarded papers and fragments of past events. By reassembling them into new compositions, she gives what was destined to disappear a second life — transforming traces of the city into something new.
But Alix brought that same spirit into the exhibition itself. She became a wonderful force within Inner Currents — curious about the stories of the other artists, generously presenting their work to visitors and helping create the sense that a collective exhibition can be more than works sharing the same walls: artists carrying and strengthening each other.
Her own work resonated deeply too, finding new homes with several visitors — a beautiful step in the journey of an emerging artist.
Perhaps this is also Artuel: transformation through attention. Giving new meaning to what already exists, while creating connections that allow something new to emerge.
What has passed does not have to disappear. It can be picked up, reassembled, shared — and given another life.
