Art gallery De Wael 15 ligt verheven boven het straatniveau en per trap treed je boven de alledaagse realiteit. Nét de ascetische, neutrale ruimte is de pas die alles nivelleert zodat enkel een sokkel voor de kunst rest. Deze overtreffende trap van de architectuur weet zichzelf uit te gommen. De concrete, materiële context excelleert hier in het ‘niet-zijn’ zodat je je als galeriebezoeker ten volle bewust kan worden van de kunst die wèl is.

Met trots presenteren wij Unanswered Question(s), de eerste tentoonstelling van Geert Vanoorlé bij Rik Rosseels Gallery.

Geert Vanoorlé behoort tot een generatie schilders voor wie schilderkunst een voortdurend onderzoek is. Vanuit een sterk vertrouwen in kleur, vorm en compositie creëert hij heldere, zorgvuldig opgebouwde schilderijen die zich nooit volledig laten ontsluiten.

Achter hun ogenschijnlijke eenvoud ontstaat een subtiel samenspel van lagen, ritmes en verschuivingen. Zijn werken balanceren tussen beheersing en intuïtie en laten ruimte voor twijfel, verschillende interpretaties en de persoonlijke ervaring van de toeschouwer.

Vanoorlé ziet het schilderij niet als een antwoord, maar als een open vraag die blijft doorwerken.

LAST DAYS!

Nog tot 30 augustus kan je het fantastische Ooidonk Art Festival ontdekken op de historische site van Goed te Réables, vlak bij Kasteel van Ooidonk.

Meer dan 30 Belgische, Nederlandse en Franse kunstenaars brengen hedendaagse kunst samen met het prachtige landschap.

Je vindt er onder anderen Arnaud Maere, Stéphanie Leblon, Vita Duffeleer, Kristel Van Ballaer en tal van andere boeiende kunstenaars.

Een unieke combinatie van kunst, natuur en gastronomie en dus absoluut een bezoekje waard!
