Incroyable moment émotion passé hier avec Truman, vétéran d’une Heavy machine gun squad, D Company, 424th Infantry Regiment, 106th Infantry Division "Golden Lions".
Pour sa venue et à la demande de l'organisation en charge de Truman, nous avons reconstitué sur sa position d’origine de Janvier 1945 dans la Forêt du village de Wanne, la position d’une HMG squad tel que la sienne à l'époque. Il a pu nous livrer ses histoires et anecdotes vécues à l'époque tout en contemplant et en manipulant un exemplaire de la mitrailleuse Browning M1917, l'arme de sa section.
Truman n'était pas seul, mais accompagné de 2 autres vétérans, Russell du 18th IR, 1st infantry division et de Frank, 142th Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division.

Cette semaine, j'ai pu finaliser le parcours d’un nouveau "Historical Battlefield Tour" où vous pourrez marcher sur les pas du Kampfgruppe Knittel dans la vallée de l’Amblève dans sa mission pour la prise de Stavelot. Ce Battlefield Tour long de 14km se donnera à des marcheurs avertis.

Ce nouveau tour s'ajoute à ceux déjà disponibles :

- The battle of Krinkelt-Rocherath.
- The 99th Infantry Division combats area.
- The advance of Kampfgruppe Peiper.
- Kampfgruppe Knittel, Attack of Stavelot.

This week, I finalized the route for a new "Historical Battlefield Tour" where you can walk in the footsteps of Kampfgruppe Knittel in the Amblève Valley during their mission to capture Stavelot. This 14km Battlefield Tour is suitable for experienced hikers.

This new tour joins those already available:

- The battle of Krinkelt-Rocherath.
- The 99th Infantry Division combats area.
- The advance of Kampfgruppe Peiper.
- Kampfgruppe Knittel, Attack of Stavelot.
