Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Collection Center is a collection center where exhibiting the great scarification, glorious achievements, historical movement and rare documents of Dhaka University as well as Bangladesh. Visiting this historical collection center everybody will able to feel the strength of the sacrifice, glory and proud of Bangladesh. In order to maintain the histo
rical background of Dhaka University as well as Dhaka University Central Students' Union, it was recommended to establish a collection center with the collections of chief attendants Gopal Das at first 6 March, 1991 as students can get inspiration from here for future glory. The then DUCSU General Secretary Khairul Kabir Khakon recommend a conducting committee to establish the collection center. After the approval of DUCSU, a draft of constitution for DUCSU Collection Center had made. Khairul Kabir Khakon, senate member Fazlul Haque Milon and Tuhin Malik, a student of law department of the university who is the first General Secretary of the collection center have signed the constitution according to DUCSU constitution. Amending and changing a few, the then vice-chancellor professor Dr. Moniruzzaman Mia approved it 19 March, 1991. Constitution say, Chief attendant of DUCSU, freedom fighter Gopal Das will be the Collector of the DUCSU collection Center and a general student who are not directly related with any political group will be the General secretary. A senate member will be the Vice President of the Collection Center by post through election. Primarily the library near the Modhu's canteen had selected for the collection center and on 26 March, 1991 Vice chancellor placed here the foundation stone. On 7 January, 1992 DUCSU Collection Center inaugurated Vice chancellor professor Dr. Moniruzzaman Mia at the ground floor of DUCSU building. Now Gopal Das is the Collector of the DUCSU Collection Center and the treasurer of the university, Professor Dr. Mijanur Rahman is keeping watch it as additional duty by post.
