The exhibition brought together photographers, artists, and audiences to celebrate visual storytelling through a wide range of perspectives on nature, environment, and human presence.

These are the winning photographs of the competition 'Nature Through A Photographer’s Lens'. They were selected for their visual strength, clarity of expression, and ability to engage with the theme through distinct perspectives. Together, they represent the range of approaches that stood out during the judging process.

These include the 50 best photographs that are being exhibited at Batighar Art Space, House 63, Road 7/B, Banani from 9 January to 17 January 2026.

Sunday to Thursday - 11AM to 5PM
Friday and Saturday - 12PM to 8PM

We are pleased to announce the selected photographers of the exhibition 'Nature Through a Photographer’s Lens'. We congratulate all the selected photographers and thank everyone who participated in this open call.

When the open call was announced, the jury had initially planned to select 30 photographs for the exhibition. As the judging progressed, the overall quality of submissions made it increasingly difficult to narrow the selection. In a few cases, more than one photograph by the same photographer stood out on merit. After careful deliberation, the jury decided to expand the exhibition to include 50 photographs.

The selected works will be exhibited at:
📍 Batighar Art Space, 6th Floor, Road 7/B, Banani
📆 9 January – 17 January 2026
🕛 11AM - 5PM (Sunday-Thursday) ; 12PM - 8PM (Friday, Saturday)

The winners of the competition will be announced during the opening ceremony on 9 January at 4pm. We look forward to welcoming you all to the exhibition.

Submissions for "Nature Through a Photographer’s Lens" are now officially closed.

We are grateful to everyone who shared their photographs and trusted us with their work. Our judges are currently reviewing the submissions with care, and the top 30 winners will be announced on 31 December 2025.

Thank you for your enthusiasm and patience as we move into the final stage of the process.

We are pleased to introduce the judging panel for the photo competition 'Nature Through a Photographer’s Lens'.

Iresh Zaker: A multidisciplinary artist whose work spans photography, storytelling, and performance. His visual sensibility has been shaped through years of engagement in theatre, film and media.

Shankar Shawjal: A well-known photographer, media personality, theatre artist, and lyricist. He has served on the Standing Committee of the Bangladesh Photographic Society (BPS) and founded Karok Natya Sampradaya, a troupe recognized for socially conscious theatre productions.

Shafayet Hossain Apollo: A documentary and advertising photographer with 27 years of professional experience, having served hundreds of local and international clients. He has received multiple international awards with his work exhibited across the world.

Farhana Satu: A photojournalist and documentary photographer trained at Pathshala and the Danish School of Media and Journalism. She has received multiple grants and awards, including a Magnum Foundation fellowship in 2023.

Together, they will select the Top 30 photographs and identify the winners whose work will be showcased at Batighar Art Space during an exhibition in January 2026.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED!

After receiving overwhelming responses from all over the country, we have decided to extend the submission deadline to 13 December 2025, to give photographers more time to capture, refine, and submit their work.

What began as a single award has now grown into three categories, to recognize and appreciate a wider range of creative voices:
* 1st Prize: 20,000 BDT
* 2nd Prize: 15,000 BDT
* 3rd Prize: 10,000 BDT

This competition is an opportunity for your work to be showcased at Batighar Art Space in January 2026, as part of a curated exhibition celebrating the beauty and stillness of nature through photography.

Aly Zaker saw the world through a quiet lens - his photographs
captured the poetry of light, the rhythm of nature, and the beauty
that needs no filter. This November, the month of both his birth and passing, we honor his love for art, culture, and the natural world through a national photography competition celebrating nature.

✨ Theme: Nature Through a Photographer's Lens
Capture the essence of nature in its purest form — the play of
light, the calm of trees, the silence of rivers, or the vastness of
the sky.
