Congratulations to our final class for 2025 completing all the items in the 2 day course. As always we had a lot of fun, especially week two where everyone got into their comfort zone and started to use a bit of creativity and personal interpretation.

One Ring To Rule Them All….. Well one ring forged to make them all. Getting Jiggy with it today. A client is making some replacement pannels for a wrought iron fence. Seems like they are a fabricator/welder so need someone to make the rings. Originally when I quoted him they were 115mm outside diameter. Easy I had the perfect jig already when the order came in he had changed it to 120mm which means a 95mm jig. So had to make a ring to suit. A day in the life of a blacksmith.
Now to heat some steel and make a batch of rings.

Today’s Hammer Making Class was a huge success. Everyone going home with hand forged French Style Cross Pien hammers and steel wedge. Lots of fun and banter throughout the day great group to work with.

Had a request to run another Hammer Making Class and a Tong making Class.

Finally I got an opportunity to light the forge and make a start on a commission job replacing the railing on an old stone church.
The original scrolls aren’t even close to matching so I settled on a pattern that kind of split the difference.
