Built in 1875, Alison Homestead is an historical museum with displays of local memorabilia with areas for picnics and family functions.

Until further notice, the Museum will be closed on the 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month due to a shortage of volunteers available to attend on Sundays. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

Support Local, Grow Together
We warmly invite everyone in the community to visit the beautiful gardens at Alison Homestead Museum. Come along to explore our vibrant plant collection and purchase a range of plants to brighten up your home or garden. It’s a great opportunity to support the Museum’s ongoing projects. Prices start at $5. We have available: Bromeliad, Iris (purple and walking), Frangipani, Canna lily, Pentas, Jade (giant, trailing and ordinary), variety of succulents, callanchoe, hoya, peace lily, pineapple lily, sedum, cordyline plus lots more. Open Sunday to Thursday 10 am to 2 pm.

We have some good quality cardboard storage boxes available for free if anyone would like to pick them up from the Museu...

The volunteers are taking a break over the Christmas holiday season. Our last day will be Thursday 18 December 2025. We will be back on board Sunday 4 January 2026. We would like to thank everyone for their support over 2025 and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Come and join us to celebrate the Harvest Festival on the long weekend 7-8 June 2025. We are open both Saturday and Sunday for this event from 10 am to 2 pm. Devonshire tea/coffee available with an historical talk by Phillip Morley at 11 am. If you are interested could you make a booking via email [email protected] or via phone 0243 521886 so we know how many fresh scones to make. Entry $5.00 Adult, $2.00 Child and/or $5.00 for Devonshire tea/coffee.

The Volunteers are back on board today. The Museum is open once again Sunday to Thursday 10am to 2pm. Closed Friday and Saturday when the grounds of the Museum can be hired by the public for special occasions.
