The Woodsdale Museum

The Woodsdale Museum The Woodsdale Museum was founded by a group of enthusiastic history buff volunteers in the Levendale and Woodsdale area in 2004.

The Tasmanian Fire Serviced owned the old school which was built in 1884 and closed down in 1965. We have a 20 year lease at a "pepper corn" rent. With Federal, State and Local grants the school was transformed into a museum telling the history of settlement in the areas from the 1830s. The museum is run by volunteers and has gone from strength to strength over the years running yearly Back to Woo

dsdale Picnic days, Stepping Back in Time for school groups, regular luncheon and tours for various groups and much more. The museum is open every Sunday or by appointment.

Annual General Meeting Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Levendale Woodsdale History Room Inc, will be held on Friday 3rd July 2026 at 10am. This AGM and the following general meeting will be held at 1990 Woodsdale Road, Woodsdale, not the Museum.

All or our community members and residents of the Southern Midlands are invited and most welcome to attend.

It is almost time for our next fund raising event! The Soup and Sandwich day last year was such a success we decided to make it a permanent fixture on the calendar. This year it is on Monday 22nd June, at the Woodsdale Hall, 12.15pm start, $20 per person, cash only please. Lucky door prize and the raffle.
