The Woodsdale Museum

The Woodsdale Museum The Woodsdale Museum was founded by a group of enthusiastic history buff volunteers in the Levendale and Woodsdale area in 2004.

The Tasmanian Fire Serviced owned the old school which was built in 1884 and closed down in 1965. We have a 20 year lease at a "pepper corn" rent. With Federal, State and Local grants the school was transformed into a museum telling the history of settlement in the areas from the 1830s. The museum is run by volunteers and has gone from strength to strength over the years running yearly Back to Woo

dsdale Picnic days, Stepping Back in Time for school groups, regular luncheon and tours for various groups and much more. The museum is open every Sunday or by appointment.

Good Afternoon Folks
I am researching all women from the area who have served in any conflict or peacetime. Whether overseas or at home, and also those who are currently serving.
This year on ANZAC Day we are commemorating the 'Women in Service'
Any information would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

Memories of the last 20 year from the beginning of transforming the building with grants, fund raisers with a scale model on show for the future sheds and creating school groups to step back in time. Lots of volunteers supporting their museum and local communities with luncheons and talks about the sustainability of their farming industry. Hereโ€™s to the next 20 years!!
