The Duwabili plants in the garden have just about finished up flower in the garden but you can still find these purple blooms out and about 🌱

Dharug people use duwabili leaves and stems to make yellowish-brown dye, while the flowers are used for purple dye. Crushed leaves were traditionally used as a fishing aid. When added to water they would stun fish, bringing them to the surface.

Have you seen this plant before?

🌱 Duwabili (indigofera australis)

Meet the collector 💫 Christian Hull

Christian Hull is an Australian content creator with over 5 million followers, receiving over 1 billion views online. Recently he has built a community that loves to share in his love of miniatures. For the past year, viewers around the world have mailed Christian tiny things — from miniature furniture, food, and handmade items to treasured heirlooms and collected memories. He unboxes every one on camera (over 1,500 parcels sent) and catalogues them in what has become The Mini Museum: a growing archive of small objects. He has also written a book, hosts a podcast, and recently released a book about the collection.

View Christian’s collection in our upcoming exhibition series, What We Keep: The Art of Collecting. Open to the public from Saturday 14 November.
