After being named a finalist in the NGV’s prestigious Rigg Design Prize last year, as well as her 2025 solo show at MARS Gallery (Of Bodies Into Novel Shapes), we are thrilled to share that .tyler’s works, Esse I-V (from the Vessels for the By and By series), have been acquired by the .

Originally presented at the Rigg Design Prize, these works have been described by the artist as a “speculative artefact” that draws on “deep geologic time, fossilisation, and the ephemerality of existence.”

This exciting news follows last month’s announcement of Kohl’s participation in the upcoming 2026 NGV Triennial, opening at the NGV International this December.

Congratulations Kohl!

Yesterday we celebrated Lisa Waup’s current exhibition, ‘TRACE’ at MARS until this Saturday 16th May.

As shown in Tarrawarra Biennial 2025, TRACE is to follow what is no longer fully visible. It is an act of searching through memory, through history, through absence—for something that resists being held in the present.

“My work is an exploration of the interwoven threads of time, seeking to uncover the invisible connections between the past, present and future. Time is not linear; it is a fluid continuum, where memories, experiences and aspirations overlap and shape who we are.” - Lisa Waup

Lisa Waup is a mixed-cultural First Nations artist and curator, born in Narrm (Melbourne), whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses a diverse range of media, including weaving, printmaking, photography, sculpture, fashion, and digital art. With a deep connection to the symbolic power of materials, her work reflects her personal experiences, family history, Country, and broader historical narratives.
