Henry Kendall Cottage & Historical Museum Henry Kendall Cottage - built by convicts c1836 for Peter Fagan, & was a home for poet Henry Kendall, and Garnet Adcock. New members always welcome.

Founded in 1950, Brisbane Water Historical Society owns and maintains Henry Kendall Cottage and the Historical Museum complex. The museum is also staffed by volunteers from the Society. The Society Committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month (December excepted).

One of our volunteers, Jeff is restoring this Railway station litter and stretcher. It was used at Gosford railway station in the early 1900’s. It was used to pick up and convey the sick and injured to a train which would take them to a hospital in Sydney or Newcastle. The Gosford district did not have a hospital until 1945.

Questions please…..

Does anyone know who the owner of the land was before Peter Fagan?
Knows where documentation of the purchase is?
(Garnet Adcock purchased the cottage and land in 1921)
Who knows who owned the land after Adcock?
Do we have paperwork about our purchase of the site - we bought it in 1960.

Any help would be appreciated - just leave a comment below. There is an archaeology student doing a university assignment and is trying to fill the gaps. I gave her the contact for local history librarian Geoff Potter.
