Congratulations to the nine South Australian inaugural members of the Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, who were inducted at the gala dinner held last weekend at Flagstaff Hill Golf Course.

๐—”๐—น๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜† was a lacrosse phenomenon, the first player in the world to score over 1,000 goals, dazzling opponents with his speed, precision, and fearless crease play.
From starring in Australiaโ€™s historic 1959 victory over the U.S. to revitalising clubs with his leadership, Gandyโ€™s skill, toughness, and humility made him a true legend of the game.
In recognition of his unmatched contribution, he is the only individual elevated to ๐™‡๐™š๐™œ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™™ status in the inaugural Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fameโ€”a fitting honour for a peerless player.

๐—๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—”๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐˜€ is widely regarded as Australiaโ€™s greatest female lacrosse player and one of the sportโ€™s global icons, a trailblazer whose vision, skill, and leadership earned her two World Cup golds, multiple All-World honours, and NCAA records at Maryland. Her induction into the Australian Lacrosse Hall of Fame celebrates a career that redefined womenโ€™s lacrosse and inspired generations worldwide.

๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐——๐˜‚๐˜๐—ต๐˜† was a powerhouse midfielder whose skill, leadership, and scoring prowessโ€”1,753 goals across 402 gamesโ€”made him a dominant force for South Australia and Australia for over two decades. A six-time All-Star and multiple-time national captain, his consistency, versatility, and on-field intelligence mark him as one of Australian lacrosseโ€™s true greats.

๐——๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—š๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป was a dazzling attacker whose speed, skill, and goal sense made him South Australiaโ€™s standout player in the post-war โ€œhickory stickโ€ era, winning multiple best and fairest awards and twice earning All-Australian selection. Renowned for his flair, consistency, and leadership, Donโ€™s brilliance helped shape Australian lacrosse and cements his place among the sportโ€™s greats.

๐——๐˜‚๐—ฑ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜† ๐—›๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป was a masterful centreman whose skill, athleticism, and leadership defined Australian lacrosse in the post-war era, captaining South Australia and leading Australia to a historic victory over the touring Americans at the MCG in 1959. Known for his endurance, intelligence, and humility, Dudleyโ€™s career left an enduring legacy in the sport and set the standard for generations to follow.

๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—œ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ is one of Australiaโ€™s most accomplished midfielders and face-off specialists, whose explosive speed, game-changing vision, and relentless drive helped transform Woodville into a state league dynasty and earned him national and international recognition. A multiple Memorial Medal and Isaachsen Trophy winner, five-time World Championship representative, and Australiaโ€™s first Major League Lacrosse player, Peterโ€™s career embodies elite skill, leadership, and enduring impact on Australian lacrosse.

๐—›๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ต ๐—ก๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—น๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ป rose to become one of Australiaโ€™s most decorated players, representing her country at five consecutive World Cups and earning multiple All-World honours. Renowned for her creativity, leadership, and relentless competitiveness, Hannah also captured two Tewaaraton Awards in the U.S. and continues to inspire athletes worldwide, forging her legacy as a true icon of Australian lacrosse.

๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—ฃ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜ (nรฉe Herbert) was a fearless midfielder, captaining Australia to silver at the inaugural 1982 World Cup and to historic gold in 1986. Renowned for her leadership, skill, and athleticism, Maryโ€™s decorated career at club, state, and international levels cements her legacy as one of the finest players in Australian womenโ€™s lacrosse history.

๐— ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฒ๐—น ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ด๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜ became one of Australiaโ€™s most feared and prolific goal scorers, amassing a record 1,826 goals in senior club lacrosse and representing Australia in multiple international tournaments. Renowned for his lightning speed, sharp hands, and powerful shot, Rags could turn a game in minutes, leaving an enduring legacy as one of the finest attackers in Australian lacrosse history.
