Glengallan Homestead & Heritage Centre

Glengallan Homestead & Heritage Centre Glengallan is not just any old house. Uninhabited for more than half its lifetime, it remains frozen in time.

Described in its day as "the finest house in the Colony" Glengallan House (1867) had been deserted for more than 70 years before an innovative restoration brought the place back from the brink and allowed the House to tell its fascinating story. To enter Glengallan is a time-warp experience of the solitary sandstone mansion surveying, as it has since 1867, the fertile Glengallan Valley to Cunningham's Gap in the Great Divide.

We would like to let our community know that we will be closed to general visitation for the foreseeable future due to current circumstances.

We will still be opening our gates for our quarterly markets, held on the first Sunday of each season, as well as for special events and other opportunities to visit throughout the year — so please keep an eye on our page for updates.

We are also still welcoming bus tours and large group bookings. To enquire, please contact [email protected].

Thank you for your continued support.

At Glengallan many people come through our doors and leave the place richer than they found it - Jonno Colfs was one of those people.

If you’ve visited Glengallan over the last few years it’s likely you’ve met Jonno, maybe you enjoyed a Glengallan club sandwich (created by Jonno himself) or attended a market organised by him or maybe you were lucky enough to experience the joy of a guided tour by Jonno.

During his time as General manager, Jonno brought energy, heart and a deep love for Glengallan stories. We are deeply grateful for his passionate contribution and he will forever remain part of this place and its story.

Our love and condolences to his family and friends.
