Byron Triandafyllidis is a prominent Australian-born vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and session musician of Greek descent based in the Greater Melbourne Area. Widely respected across Australia’s world music and Greek-Australian cultural communities, he is highly celebrated for his expressive vocals and deep mastery of both traditional and contemporary Mediterranean and Middle Eastern sounds.

✨Ekphrastic✨

Derived from the Greek word “ekphrasis,” meaning description or interpretation, ekphrastic poems are a unique form of artistic expression in which the writer typically uses verbal descriptions or written responses to a work of art, such as a painting, sculpture, or photograph. Through the artful interplay of words and imagery, ekphrastic poems offer a fresh perspective and expand upon original artwork, bridging the gap between visual and literary realms.

Genius Loci celebrates poetry this weekend
🌿A brunch of Poets, Ekphrastic Hour🌿

Call-out to all poets:
Come try your hand or tongue…
What can be said about art and spirit and this place we dwell?
Can you scribe the line between vision and word?
Dare you put answer to silent rhyme?
