Join the Wangaratta Historical Society for the opening of our latest exhibition, "Wangaratta's Hidden Treasures from the Attic"!

UPDATED STARTING POINT FOR TOMORROW DUE TO FLOODING!

4th July- The walk will start at the Stockbridge on the Faithful street side.

🚶 Join us for a free guided historical walk on Saturday 4 July, starting at Marmungun Rock in Apex Park at 10am.
Led by WHS volunteer Phil Emslie, the walk explores Wangaratta's earliest settlement days — focusing on life on the other side of the Ovens River, the people who lived there, and the stories largely forgotten over time.
You'll hear about Wangaratta's earliest postal contractor, the town's first brick building, early river crossings and punts, and the fascinating story of John Crisp — one of the area's earliest permanent residents.
The walk runs for about 90 minutes and finishes back at Apex Park. Entry is free, with donations gratefully accepted.
