Wagga Wagga Art Gallery Wagga Wagga Art Gallery inspires a vibrant and innovative arts culture.

We engage with our local and global communities, we support artists regionally and nationally, and we promote a flourishing and experimental creative environment accessible to all. Designed by Melbourne architect Garner Davis in 1999, the Art Gallery includes seven exhibition areas with one Gallery specifically designed for the National Art Glass Collection. The Glass Gallery houses a world class, nationally significant collection of contemporary art glass, featuring approximately 500 pieces. Wagga Wagga Art Gallery is also the home of the Margaret Carnegie Print Collection, which consists of over 1200 original prints by some of Australia's foremost artists. Wagga Wagga Art Gallery welcomes over 40,000 people each year to exhibitions, events, educational and public programs and is FREE to the public.

LAUREN DUNN addresses consumer trends and the imagery that fuels desire through hyperreal depictions and advertising methodologies, unpacking the codes of images, politics and power structures.

BADEN PAILTHORPE creates digital worlds of repetition, where technology both enhances and threatens human independence and autonomy.

AFFORDING TRUTH features 14 artists from across the country whose work interrogates the muddy space of truth using affordances — the qualities of objects or environments that suggest or enable actions and interactions.

TYZA HART draws on our common understanding of affordances to explore the gender-neutral body, using ceramics and textiles to ask us to acknowledge their experience of personhood.

RAQUEL ORMELLA also utilises textiles to remove rather than add, interrogating the flag as a symbol of nationalism, captured in a sparkly hue of decaying sumptuousness. Her works speak to the affordance of celebration — sequins, streamers, tassels, stars — unhinged by the greed of capitalism and colonisation.

AFFORDING TRUTH features 14 artists from across the country whose work interrogates the muddy space of truth using affordances — the qualities of objects or environments that suggest or enable actions and interactions.

In the exhibition, ROBERT ANDREW obscures Yawuru words through programmed mechanics and organic materials, speaking to the dispossession of First Nations people from their language. RYAN PRESLEY references the legacy of colonisation in his paintings, replacing Christian icons with First Nations figures to call attention to the underlying forms of control imposed on First Nations peoples.
