Bearstock is a purpose built, rights managed image library specialising in dramatic and stylised location backgrounds created especially to be used with 3D CGI automotive mesh models or for stand alone use. Categories include roadscapes, CG Environments, seascapes, landscapes, urbanscapes, people and conceptual images. All images have been retouched and graded ready for applications from web use t
o outdoor super sites. The purchase process is simple once you’ve found the image you’re looking for. On site you will be directed to a straightforward usage form for completion, which will be linked to your selected image. Once completed and sent we will then provide you with a fast turn-around quote for your licensing needs. Licensing costs are based on your usage plan to include duration, market exposure and finally how the image will be seen. To help explain our offer, the work can be categorised as follows: -
The Photographic Backplate:
Whether you’re looking for a coastal highway, a rugged country environment to match a 4WD vehicle, or a unique cityscape that speaks to urban-dwellers, we have a library of backgrounds to match your brief. Straight roads, curved streets, coastal drives, freeways, country tracks, bridges, tunnels, car parks, ramps and much more feature in the collection. You can also search for a number of different road surfaces from tarmac, asphalt, bitumen gravel, earth, sand and concrete. Our Environments have been shot at dawn, daytime, dusk and at night with any number of weather conditions – wet, dry, sunny or overcast.. All files are 16bit Tif and are retouched, lightly graded and ready for use from web to outdoor supersites. They can be used with or without HDR Domes. All Backplates can be used as environments for CGI vehicles or to refresh the Automotive Background for traditionally photographed vehicles. The CG Environment Backplate:
CG Environments are unique backplates with the majority of elements computer generated created specifically for automotive imaging to use with existing 2D assets or CGI mesh models. All CG Environments come with matching 360º HDRI Domes. The files are massive with limitless usage from web applications to outdoor super sites and are supplied as 16 bit tifs to include lens specs and camera heights within the file’s meta data. The added bonus of customising adjustments such as camera height, lens size, lighting direction and rendered textures make these backplates very versatile for your specific applications and requirements. Anything is possible … just ask. The 360º HDR Dome:
360° high dynamic range image ‘domes’ are shot on location to capture the environment data. These 360° files are shot at the same time and in the same environment as their matching Backplate images to assist the re-touchers with the lighting and reflection references that need to be rendered onto the 3D or CGI mesh model. The camera and lens information used at the shoot is also captured in the metadata of the HDRI dome images so that the post-production team can adjust and determine the height of the CGI model. If a car needs to reflect an intricate urban architecture in its metallic panels, its windscreen and side mirrors, the HDRI ensures a seamless marriage between both elements. By utilizing the elements of the HDR Dome through the render process your retoucher will have the tools to deliver a highly realistic end result. Owing to their high resolution the HDR Dome can also be used as a “virtual environment” for the animation of 3D objects, walk-arounds, visualisors or 360º configurators. Bear Stock provides its 360° HDR file as a 32 bit radiance ‘.hdr’ file. This provides a great level of realism and latitude of grey tones. Starting with more picture information means better results throughout the production process. If you have any questions about HDR Domes, please feel free to contact us. Releases / Permits
