Torbay Glass Studio and Gallery

Torbay Glass Studio and Gallery Functional, decorative, architectural and contemporary glass artworks. Once the the concept and colour scheme is organized the piece is halfway to being made.

All our glass artwork is designed and created in our studio workshop, located above the gallery. We encourage our customers to visit the studio to see examples of the different glass-working techniques. If they desire, they are welcome to consult on, or design their own glass works to give that really personal touch to their home or business. The process can as simple as acquiring ideas from our p

ortfolios or books and modifying them to create your own design. For hot glass it is even possible to arrange the coloured glass yourself to get just the look that you desire - then we will work the glass for you. We are also happy for clients who want pieces made by other techniques to discuss their design ideas with us. The perfect place to find a unique gift, our gallery displays a showcase of kiln formed glass art pieces. The designs and concepts used in our collections are our own, and each piece is hand-crafted, so every item is unique. We enjoy pushing the boundaries to see how far it is possible to stretch glass into different shapes. We continue to experiment to see how glass performs when melted, and to extend our abilities, resulting in a wide range of artefacts. These include bowls, platters, wall art, water features and other sculptural pieces, from very small to huge! At Torbay Glass Studio we pride ourselves on the fact that our work and service is of the highest standard, with a range of styles hard to find elsewhere in Western Australia. Glassworks are hand made using several different production methods using our extensive knowledge acquired through years of learning and experience. Glass transmits, refracts, reflects and filters light creating a different perspective from different viewpoints. The type, thickness and colour of the glass used, how it is constructed, and the choice and extent of decoration can all affect the interplay between light and glass. The extent and possibilities of glass design are limited only by one's imagination and to a lesser degree the size of the panel or object being made. Once a design has been finalised and the colours and type of glass to be used are decided we can give you an estimate of the cost. For architectural work this includes supply of materials, construction, and installation. We use fine quality materials to provide the best possible finish, with glass and other materials selected from specialist suppliers in Perth who source their materials nationally and internationally. All work and installation is guaranteed. Location: Coombes Road (Torbay Hill) approximately 30 kilometres to the west of Albany in Western Australia. Ample parking is available. Opening Hours: flexible, but we try to be on site between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm Thursday to Sunday throughout most the year and in addition most public holidays and school holiday periods.
