Downlands Art In 2026, the Annual RME Downlands College Art Exhibition Gala Opening is on Friday 18 September.

The Downlands Art Story
Downlands College has an extensive Arts program, and this spills over into our major annual event - The RME Downlands Art Exhibition. Attracting international, national and local artists, the Exhibition offers viewers both contemporary and traditional artworks, creatively curated in a generous and imaginative format. With up to 1000 works on display in the Graham Centre at

the College, every year brings new surprises and interesting contrasts. This important cultural and community event has been held annually since 1987 and celebrates 35 years in 2022. This year's event promises to be even bigger and better as it now coincides with the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and is part of Carnival’s official program.

🎨 Only two weeks to go until the 2026 RME Downlands Art Exhibition opens its doors. 🎨

From 19–23 September, visitors will have the opportunity to explore more than 800 artworks from over 200 artists, showcasing a diverse collection of contemporary and traditional works from international, national and local talent.

Don't miss the Gala Opening on Friday 18 September, where guests can enjoy an exclusive first look at the exhibition and the opportunity to purchase artworks before the public opening. Gala tickets are limited and selling fast.
