We have been exhibiting some of the finest Indigenous and contemporary Australian works of art for over 29 years. Gannon House Gallery exhibits artwork by artists from all over Australia in many different mediums. Known for one of the largest collections of Aboriginal artwork from the central and western desert, Gannon House also exhibits artwork from other artists living and working in Australia

to give an unique cross section of current contemporary artwork in Australia. The collection is over thirty years in the making and the available work is regularly updated with new paintings.

Today we're honoring the memory of the incredible Minnie Pwerle, an Indigenous Australian artist and member of the Alyawarre people. Pwerle's paintings are characterized by their bright, bold colors and fluid lines, which depict body paint and ceremonial stories of her ancestral homeland. Pwerle's work has been exhibited internationally and is held in major collections around the world. Let's celebrate the beauty and cultural significance of Pwerle's art!

Minnie Pwerle, Bush Melon - Awelye, 2006. Minnie began painting in her late 80’s in the Northern Territory community of Utopia. Inspired by Emily Kame Kngwarreye and encouraged by her daughter, Barbara Weir, Minnie developed her signature body paint designs. Her paintings are now recognised internationally.
