About Railway Temora
Housed in the newly refurbished Railway Precinct, Railway Temora boasts a growing, yet comprehensive display of railway memorabilia dating back to when the Temora Railway Station was first est
ablished in 1893. Visitors are invited to explore Railway Temora, and the Railway Precinct, at their own pace and soak up the rich history that has evolved from the role Temora Railway Station played since the turn of the twentieth century. The Collection
The Railway Temora collection boasts many pieces from days gone by, all arranged throughout the original railway station building that has recently been renovated. The sections include:
• Signal Box Room
• Station Masters Office
• Main Exhibition Room
• Ticket Office
• Trackman’s area
• Model Railway
• Boofhead Statue & Story
Throughout Railway Temora, a wide range of items are on display. Items such as clothing, lanterns, books, signs and badges, right through to tools and objects that had a working life at the precinct such as the original fettler’s trike and the spade that was used to turn the ‘first sod’ of the Cootamundra to Temora railway line. Be sure to drop back from time to time as the collection is continually growing and changing. The Railway Precinct
Several different facilities make up the Temora Railway Station Precinct. These include the Railway Temora, a youth space (Platform Y), visitor facilities and a ‘Free Camp’ facility for RV’s and motor homes, linking to Federal Park which includes a sound shell, play equipment and skate park - it truly is a travellers sanctuary. For travellers passing through or staying in Temora the ‘Free Camp’ facility is an ideal option. Located at the Railway Temora’s doorstep, the facility is an ideal place to stop, shop and enjoy everything that Temora has to offer. The facility is also within walking distance of local parks, cafes and eateries. Temora also boasts two outstanding museums:
Temora Aviation Museum and Temora Rural Museum.
