Thank you to the Blackall Tambo Regional Council for the 50:50 Shopfront Grant Renewal Program to beautify the entrances of both Heritage Precinct buildings.
Pots and plants were purchased from The Potting Shed, another small business in Tambo.
The plants are looking great and have certainly refreshed the entrances.

Tourism season is certainly making itself known in Tambo, and it's fantastic to see! 🚐☀️

Over the past few weeks we've welcomed a steady stream of visitors from right across Australia, and it's been wonderful seeing so many people stopping in to explore our Heritage Centre.

Every visitor who walks through our doors helps support our local community. They stay in our accommodation, buy fuel, enjoy a meal at our cafés and pubs, shop in our local businesses, and take home a little piece of Tambo's history. It's a reminder of just how important tourism is to our town and the wider region.

One of the best parts has been hearing the stories our visitors share and watching them discover the rich history that makes Tambo such a special place. Seeing families, caravanners, and travellers taking the time to appreciate our heritage makes all the hard work of our volunteers worthwhile. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who has visited, and to our dedicated volunteers who continue to welcome people with a friendly smile and a wealth of local knowledge. Communities don't preserve their history by accident. It takes people willing to give their time, which is apparently a rarer commodity than caravan parks with vacancies this time of year. 😄

If you're passing through Tambo, be sure to drop in and say hello. We'd love to show you what makes our little corner of Queensland so special.

Have you ever wondered how the old homes were built?
At the Tambo Heritage Precinct under Mulhern house, it sits on logs.
This timber would have been shaped by a broad axe, which was used in building construction.
Shaping round logs to flat beams.
