Sutherland Shire Historical Society Inc & Museum Sutherland Shire Historical Society is a community group committed to preserving history of the Shire

The collection is focused on a time period trail called ‘Old but New”.
​Specific displays include our Aboriginal culture, explorers, pioneers and settlers,
and post-war expansion. This is augmented by touch screen devices and volunteer guidance. Opening hours are Tuesday 12:00 - 4:00pm, Thursday 9:30 - 1:30 pm Saturday 9am to 1 pm and other groups at other times by appointment.

ool curriculum is especially well catered for in the museum content and presentation. A specialist research room contains a very comprehensive data base of suburb and general histories, books and artwork relevant to the Shire.
