Barthe House Gallery

Barthe House Gallery Barthe House Gallery is a new concept in Australian contemporary art.

Established in 2013, the space aims to become a hub for creative expression encompassing art exhibitions, music recitals, artist talks, catered functions and entrepreneurial collaboration.

“Bathe House Gallery reflects the distinct creative energy of Sydney” explains founder Jean-Marc Barthe. “It’s about showcasing how the artistic vision of this city is different from that of Melbourne or Perth,

New York or Paris.”

The gallery has two exhibition spaces with a dynamic annual program of solo shows, curated exhibitions and artist projects. Through relationships with established Sydney-based artists and fresh talent from the Billy Blue College of Design, Jean-Marc says the space aims to share Sydney’s unique blend of culture and commerce with the Parisian market - and vice versa.

“From the beginning it will be very cool to move art around the world; to bring Parisians here and to take Australian artists to Paris.”

An adventurer, innovator, entrepreneur and art-lover, Jean-Marc was born in Saint-Raphael, studied in Paris and arrived in Australia in 1997. These days the father of three splits his time between bases in Sydney, Valla Beach and the city of light.
