She came from a wealthy family but a bit dysfunctional. She arrived in Australia by Age 14, two years after following her mother, Anna had no knowledge of English at the time she came to Australia. As a young girl she was eager to learn English therefore she started going to High School two months later after her arrival. It was difficult to learn due to lack of English knowledge, not to mention b
ullying and teasing about her English. Anna Maria had left school at age 15, not finishing her High School Certificate. She learnt English as she went through her life and a bit from Scoobie Doo (cartoon for children played on TV in the mornings). As she explains, at the time, she could only understand the dog's "woof woof". It was a hard road but she managed to keep her sense of humour. Having a selfish and careless mother, Anna Maria was left to her own decisions with what to do with her life. As a child turning to a young lady she started living her life on her own by age 16. First was to buy a car, second to buy a house, third was to get married, fourth was to have children by age 27 and last to have her own business. Four of these did happen. She got herself a car, house, business and children by age 27. Unfortunately she did not have luck marrying the man. He was abusive and controlling. As well she lost all by going Bankrupt. After her long struggle in life, Anna Maria picked up a painting brush and canvas to release her emotions in 2008. Her first painting was "Forbidden to see". A queen of fire that no one should see but yet you just catch her in the moment of staring at the candle. Her second painting followed four months later. "Untouchable", an unborn baby in a full moon which represents an untouched soul of humankind and cannot be hurt or corrupted by life. Oil paintings in this series known as "Symbols of Emotion", contains secret spiritual messages in code, they are not religious themes. The symbols can be interpreted by each viewers own higher power. We would love to let you know that this will be the first exhibition of her work and therefore we look forward to you seeing the artwork at the exhibition. Despite her life, Anna Maria is full of life and a very cheeky lady and hopes you will love her exhibition.
