Our annual STA day is fast approaching. On Sunday, 5th April 2026, we will be operating an additional bus service to Huntleys Point using four vintage STA buses on route 512.

There will be a large number of guest buses this year, and it’s time to start announcing them.

3037 is a 1987 Mark 4 Mercedes (O305) that is owned by member Peter Jacono. 3037 was withdrawn from STA service at Leichhardt depot in 2012 and sold for preservation.

Stay tuned for more guest bus announcements in the next 2 weeks.

See you at the STA day.

We are pleased to announce a new exhibit at the Sydney Bus Museum, that will be open from tomorrow.

With support from Bus NSW, Transport Heritage NSW and Inner West Council the Sydney Bus Museum has been able to digitise and showcase the immense Ken Magor bus photo collection.

Ken Magor captured buses between the 1930s and 1980s, his photography offered a rare glimpse into everyday working life across New South Wales, from buses in depots to out on the main street, and the streescapes buses traversed to connect communities and towns.

Magor had an extraordinary archive of 100,000 photos and 250,000 negatives, preserving not only buses but also trains, ships and scenes of daily city life. Carefully selected images from his vast collection are now on display at the Sydney Bus Museum for all to see.

When you enter the museum, head toward the Sydney Olympics Bus, m/o2000 and you will notice a display wall with Olympic Memorabilia, the Ken Magor collection is on the otherside of this wall. We will be working to expand and rotate this through time.

The Sydney Bus Museum is open tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.

Today we welcomed the national leadership team of Transit Systems to the museum for a guided tour.

From right across Australia all these leaders within the Transit Systems organisation were able to discover the history and technology that has developed with buses from the 1920’s through to the present day, aswell as enjoying a ride on a Vintage Sydney Double Decker Bus.

Transit Systems have been a long term supporter and partner with the Sydney Bus Museum, as well as our neighbour, and it was great to have them on site today. We look forward to future engagements.

In Sydney alone Transit Systems operate 11 depots with a fleet of 1210 buses. They are currently part of the transition toward Zero Emission Buses, and we were able to see one of the new BYD Volgren buses on site at Leichhardt Depot which will soon be rolling out.

We welcome all Transport Operators and Organisations to tour our museum, as well as private groups. Contact us for more information!

This year we will also be introducing corporate membership. This is just another way to support and become involved in the museum, and to promote brands throughout the community.
