Introducing my new artwork, Water Map 1.

At first glance, it appears to be water — luminous, golden, shifting with reflection and light. But the longer I looked at it, the more it seemed to become something else: sand, terrain, an aerial map, a place remembered rather than photographed.

Water Map 1 sits in both my Offshore Aerial Collection and my Sand Talk Collection. It also feels like the beginning of a new series.

The work is available as Edition 1 of 5, a signed limited edition Giclée print on museum-quality paper or canvas.

There are moments in my practice where the work feels less like a creation and more like a revelation.

In my latest work, "A Golden Score," I found myself drawn to a fluid, unstable field of gold. As I stayed with the image, the reflections of rigging and masts began to organize themselves into something else entirely: a musical score.

It is a "score" that cannot be read in any fixed way. Each of you brings your own rhythm and interpretation to it.

This is a significant, large-format work perfect for a focal wall. Limited edition signed prints are now available on my website.

Created in 2013, this work feels very different to me now.

What I once saw as a simple marina reflection has shifted into something more uncertain — an image that sits somewhere between observation and dream, where familiar forms begin to dissolve.

I often return to early works as a way of reflecting on how my practice has evolved.

Every now and then I come across something that feels newly alive — not because it has changed, but because I can finally see it more clearly.

Under the Weather is one of those works.

Created in 2013, it now feels like an early turning point. The marina is still there, but the image refuses to remain descriptive. It shifts into something more fluid, more psychological, more uncertain.

Sometimes an artwork understands your direction before you do.

A lovely piece of news.

My artwork On The Way to Bluedom has been selected for the longlist of the 2025 Booooooom Photo Awards in the Colour category.

What especially pleases me is that the work has been recognised for the very thing that gives it its force — colour. The vitality of the blue is what drives this image, giving it movement, energy and emotional charge.

I’ve written a short Art Journal blog about the longlisting and why the Colour category feels so fitting for this work.
