Nelson Mandela - My Sketches

Nelson Mandela - My Sketches Let us honour this soldier for peace in a fitting manner. Let us rededicate ourselves to bringing about the democracy he fought for all his life... Why 27 sets?

With the launch of the ‘Touch of Mandela’ initiative, this well-loved public figure reveals yet another side to himself - that of a sensitive and serious artist. The sketches that form the “Nelson Mandela My Sketches” collection were completed by Mr Mandela with the help of Varenka Paschke, a young South African artist who privately tutored him and assisted with both the composition and applicatio

n of colour in all the pieces. My Sketches is a rare collection of signed, numbered, hand printed, limited edition lithographs by Nelson Mandela. After the release of these artworks in London in 2002, an astute investor purchased 27 full sets of these pieces from the publisher, various galleries, collectors and auction houses from across the globe. One to commemorate each year Mandela spent behind bars. The intent, to celebrate and honor this incredible global icon and to present these unique and exclusive portfolios to the world. Each hand signed image within these sets has been independently, forensically examined and certified to ensure that it was indeed Mr Nelson Mandela himself who personally hand signed each work. The My Sketches collection is impeccably presented and preserved in hand crafted, museum quality, archival cases.
