Would you like to be part of an historic milestone? Commemorating 200 years of European settlement, join in the Community Day at the Stanley Recreation Ground on Saturday 31st October. Be part of the Bicentenary procession assembling at 10.30am by participating with a float either individually or with a group/Club, dress in period costume or just join in. Activities and displays will be held on the ground including working blacksmiths, shingle splitter, Country Muster dogs, steam engines, Edith Creek working bullocks, draught horses, Sea Eagle Spinners and CWA, Historical Machinery Club, Veteran Car Club, Ritmo Latino, photograph display by Stanley Museum and more. What a great weekend as part of the CHArts programme. Two contrasting events in St Paul's Church which provided a wonderful venue. The launch of "Heavy Toil & Slow Progress" and presentation by author Peter Moore on Saturday and the performance by "Riches & Wood", violin and classical guitar, on Sunday were both well attended and enjoyed by all.

Reminder book launch Saturday morning 11am in St Paul's Church for "Heavy Toil & Slow Progress" by Peter Moore who will give a presentation followed by book signing. The book is a compilation of years of research by Peter on tenant farming in Circular Head by the Van Diemen's Land Company, 1842 to 1872. Museum will be open with no admission charge Saturday 10am until 3pm and Sunday 11am to 3pm.
