An extra opportunity to explore the water tower museum in Sale today while you attend the Australia Day celebrations in Victoria Park. We are open until 2pm - entry by gold coin donation.
Do you remember the pool that was next door - the promise of the pool got the vote over the line for a town water supply.

Another setback to deal with - someone broke one of our windows over the weekend. Left a big hole and quite a bit of blood but don’t appear to have entered (we have CCTV inside but not outside at present). Another expense and cleanup for our volunteers, trying to preserve our history.

MOVIES IN SALE

The display on ‘Early Theatres in Sale’ at Foster Street Museum will close at 4 pm on Wednesday, 20 August.
The Foster Street Museum is open from 1.30 pm to 4 pm on Wednesday and will then be closed for several weeks for the construction of a new archive room.
The Museum is grateful for a generous donation from the John Leslie Trustees to provide additional archive storage. The ever-growing archives form the foundation of the research and historical files which underpin displays or form the basis for responses to enquiries from the public.
The other Sale museums remain open: the Water Tower in Cunninghame Street is open each Saturday from 2 pm to 4 pm and the Powder Magazine in Stephenson Street (or via the Lake Guyatt walking trail) is open on the first and third Saturdays from 2 – 4 pm.
For research and other enquiries email: [email protected] or phone 0437 296 925. You can follow us on Facebook or check our website at salemuseums.com
