We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the Jewish community in Australia, after the terrible massacre of Jews at Bondi Beach, by Islamic jihadists.
Australia's Bible Museum has a window display about the festival of Hannukah, to show our support at this tragic time. The story of Hanukkah is told in the books of the First and Second Maccabees. These Jewish history books are in Greek Bibles, and the Apocrypha, and were in the early English Bibles, including the 1611 King James Bible.
Jesus Christ visited Jerusalem at the feast of the dedication (Hannukah), in winter. He walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. (John 10:22,23)
Hanukkah, “the festival of lights”, or “feast of dedication”, commemorates the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent re-dedication of the Second Temple following the Jewish Maccabean Revolt against the Grecian Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BC.
“Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.” Isa 40:1

Australia's Bible Museum is now open for group visits. Strictly by pre-booked appointment, please email, phone or txt us with your preferred date and time. Usually group visits to the Bible Museum last around 1.5-2 hours. A guided tour is provided, featuring highlights of the collection and visiting the flight house in the Butterfly Garden (at the rear). The Butterfly Garden is only open from November to May.
Free admission, donations welcome.
Morning and afternoon tea will be available, most groups have lunch in the town.
We are available usually most days of the week or weekend for groups visits, which is why pre-booking is essential.
The Bible Museum welcomes pre-booked groups: Church Groups, Tourism, Youth, School, Community, Probus, Rotary, Lions, YMCA, and large families. In fact, any sort of group! We can host groups from 8 to 50+, although we usually only host one bus group at a time.
Many groups enjoy a 'mystery tour' to the Bible Museum, where the group only finds out the destination after they get here. The museum tailors the guided tour to suit different types of groups, to make it more interesting for them. You don't have to be religious to enjoy a visit here.
The Bible Museum is run entirely by volunteers and is a non profit charity.
It is located at 125-133 Napier Street, St Arnaud, Victoria 3478.

The St Arnaud Tourist Information Centre volunteers visited the Bible Museum yesterday. The volunteers were given a ‘highlights’ tour, so they could inform tourists about some of the experiences the Bible Museum has to offer. The museum has new features and displays, and the collection has tripled in the last 15 years. The volunteers visited the butterfly flight house and garden, and were able to take a butterfly chrysalis home, so they could watch a butterfly emerging.
