Arts of Indonesia, Balique We collect fine examples of art from all the Islands of the Indonesian archipelago Our gallery is our home. Beads have played a part in the history.

There are over 300 distinct cultures in Indonesia, each with its unique history of art. Some are from archeological diggings, dating over 1000s of years, trade beads from Europe, India and China. Even today there is an energetic bead making industry. Textiles, both batik and woven, sculpture. bronzes dating back 2500 years, ceramic, stone carvings, terracotta. In over 40 years of travel we feel that we have only touched the tip of the iceberg.
