Sounds of Space A free, inclusive, family friendly exhibition coming to 107 Gallery Redfern, 17-27 August 2017 exploring the wonders of Space. Supported by City of Sydney

Sounds of Space is a free inclusive community event happening at 107 Gallery, Redfern from 17-27 August 2017 that merges the arts and sciences with two exhibition spaces; a large scale projection room showcasing the best in astrophotography and incredible recordings of the sounds in Space, and a more tradition

al gallery layout with a feature wall and curated mixed media works from Australian artists. That traditional gallery section will also be used to house astronomy lectures, music performances, free family craft workshops and more. The projection room will feature a rotating program of three audio/video works. The first will be a traditional look at the actual audio recordings from Space alongside corresponding imagery. The second will be a look into the Classical composers interpretations of the stars and planets above us, think - Gustav Holst's breathtaking suite The Planets and more. The third will be a look at modern compositions inspired by the intergalactic through a varying range of musical styles. It will be a really breathtaking event geared towards inclusive community engagement with an aim to spark joy and discovery for the younger members of our community who may not have engaged with the incredible Universe above us, and a chance for us all to rediscover the sense of awe that lies in the boundless Space surrounding us. Special programs and artists will be announced so stay tuned and keep your eyes on the Stars.
