Many thanks to Gabby and Anthony Lattanzio in Horsham for restoring one of our special Yurunga exhibits, a very old hand made leather cushion. Gabby replaced the perished backing hide and expertly repaired and relaced the front. The appliqued flower and the tassel are original. Thank you Gabby. This is a special feature of our new underground room display.

July was a busy month for Yurunga.
The Annual General Meeting of the Yurunga Homestead Community Asset Committee was held at Hayden's Cafe on Thursday 23rd. We had visitors every Sunday afternoon as well as booked groups, including the Dimboola Girl Guides and the WWHS Jeparit Men's Day Care group.
Work to repair damage to the South verandah was completed earlier this year and the surface was oiled by committee members. Repairs to water damage on the wall of the underground room have been completed and a new display has been prepared.
Wander through the grounds and check the mural any time. Call in between 2 pm and 4 pm on Sunday or call us to book a tour of the house.

The Yurunga Homestead Community Asset Committee will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Thursday 23 July 2026 at Hayden’s Café, Federal Street Rainbow, commencing at 2:00pm.

The purpose of the meeting is to present the annual report and annual financial report from the Chairperson and Treasurer.

We had a great tour today. Residents and staff from West Wimmera Health Service, Jeparit and Rainbow, visited Yurunga. A highlight was the impromptu piano playing by Shirley and 102 year old Valma. They played Esther Liesfield's 123 year old German Lipp piano, which was returned to Yurunga two years ago.

A huge thank you to the team at The Shed, the Thursday group that meets at The Shed at the Neighbourhood House in Rainbow.
They have just finished restoring three of the Yurunga garden seats. Timber reclaimed from the recent renovation of our verandah was used in the project. A great result.

Builders have returned to work on stage 1 of repairs to our South verandah. Water damage in the underground room has been repaired and is ready to be painted. We have plans to restore the remainder of the South and East verandah. This will include straightening of the verandah posts. It will be great to finally finish this project.
