Lest we forget.

On this Anzac Day, we reflect through the eyes of Australian artist Evelyn Chapman, whose delicate yet powerful brushstrokes captured the aftermath of WWI.

'Trench ruins with poppies' (c1919) was painted on the scarred fields near Villers-Bretonneux, where so many gave their lives. Amid the devastation red poppies emerge, a quiet yet enduring symbol of remembrance, hope, and renewal.
