Looking for something to do this weekend during Carnivale?

Step into the iconic Sugar Wharf and discover Go Troppo 2026, a vibrant exhibition showcasing painting, photography, ceramics and sculpture by artists from across Far North Queensland.

Meet the artists, explore a diverse range of artworks, and maybe even take home a unique piece of Port Douglas 🌴

A little behind the scenes from our first day at the Sugar Wharf ✨

From unpacking artworks to installing the exhibition and preparing for opening night, it’s been an exciting few days bringing Go Troppo 2026 to life.

Set in the spectacular and iconic Sugar Wharf, Port Douglas, Go Troppo 2026 brings together leading practising artists from across the region in a vibrant celebration of contemporary art.

This dynamic exhibition features painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, woven art, and sculpture, responding to themes of ancient knowledge, timeless landscapes, cultural memory, and enduring natural forms.
