Last Last couple of days before a break! 🖼️☕️🍦🍧

Enjoy our current art display and conversations, with your favourite gelati, coffee and lunch, in the lovely gallery setting this weekend - before we close for the rest of May.

Whale Tail Gallery and will close for a break from 17 May - 1 June.

Nature Intertwined | Meet the Artist:
Bernadette Mollison
Bernadette Mollison

Bernadette seeks to prompt reflection on our relationship with place through her works.

In ‘ Storytelling’, a watercolour on canvas piece featuring in Nature Intertwined, Bernadette pays tribute to the Ngugi, Noonuccal and Goenpul women who have shared their stories by the tea tree waters of at Bamira-Brown Lake.

Bernadette will be in the gallery:

on Monday 10am - 1pm

“My work explores the connections found within the natural world, often focusing on details that might otherwise go unnoticed. Through abstraction and close observation, I’m drawn to the way textures, light, and form come together”.

Lustre photographic paper, 50x60cm print, recycled wooden frame.

Also on display is a collection of slate coasters featuring my work, exploring patterns found in nature alongside island landscapes. Each coaster is printed here on Straddie onto natural slate, with its own distinct organic texture.

Renata Buziak

In her words:
“This work, Between Day and Night, grew from time spent walking and observing on Minjerribah.

Created with grasses through the biochrome process, the soft pink tones remind me of those brief Queensland sunsets — when the light shifts quickly and disappears. Sometimes the forms feel like clouds, or like lying in tall grasses and looking up at the sky.”

Renata will be in the gallery:
Saturday 25 April, 10 am – 4 pm
Sunday 26 April, 10 am – 1 pm
followed by Trish Lake, 1 pm – 4 pm

We’re still feeling grateful for the beautiful energy of the opening of Nature Intertwined — and so happy to share more moments from the day 🎉 captured by exciting artist Julie Sisco

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to all who have visited since — for your time, conversations, and for supporting the artists through your purchases of artworks, cards, lamps and publications. It truly means a lot.
