You can help to secure the future of our facilities by 31 October

Local artists are working hard to raise the large amounts of money needed to purchase some of the facilities that have housed our transformational programs for decades.  We’re not fundraising experts, but we’re passionate about our people, our programs and our facilities.

Some recent action at the hot shop. We had Brynn Hill from the UK join us for 10 days as he explored all that Tassie has to offer. His enthusiasm for glass was infectious to be around.

He talked about how significant the natural environment of the surrounds was in helping him feel at home and connect to the creative process.

After some pieces went "horribly wrong" and there was nothing left to show except some smashed glass on the floor, he talked about how these mistakes were like a drop in the river compared to other studios he had worked in the past.

When we asked why it felt different, he talked about how stepping out into the cold air and mountain view helped him relax and reset.

Whilst it was a short stay, we were grateful to host Brynn and hope to see him back in Poatina in the near future.

The former Poatina Primary School and Training Centre where many summer school workshops and residencies in performing arts, painting and drawing, creative writing, interdisciplinary collaboration, etc have been hosted are currently for sale. We urgently need to permanently secure our facilities. This is a pivotal moment - the arts community is strong, and the team is ready. Would you like to help fund a new, independent Poatina Arts?

This is a great opportunity for tax-deductible end-of-financial year giving, however the Campaign extends well into 2027 and allows both one off and monthly regular giving.

We will receive 100% of all donations received so this is a great opportunity to continue supporting our newly independent Poatina Arts, and help us raise the necessary funds to secure venues and support staffing and admin needs.

Please share widely with your friends and networks to keep the fires burning! ☺️
