We also wanted to update you about Poatina Arts' transition to independence, as flagged in our last newsletter which included a media release from Fusion Australia.

Tania Vrancic - ‘Into the Land’
solo exhibition
closing date Sun 8 Feb
Poatina Tree Art Gallery.
Tania Vrancic’s abstract landscapes are drawn from the experience of immersing herself in nature.

She aims to capture the feeling of walking through nature. The works resonate with expressive line marking, enhanced with subtle tones and hues conveying depth and light.

If you are travelling in the Tasmanian midlands why not visit Poatina and The Poatina Tree Art Gallery to see the work first hand.

‘In the Eye of the Beholder’

Come to Poatina Tree Gallery and see the last exhibition for 2025. Featuring artists:
Sarah L Stewart, Sabine Wagner and Nikki Johnston

Exhibition continues until 28 Dec 2025.

An exhibition of new works by these three accomplished artists. The exhibition has a focus on abstraction as a format that challenges our perspective on landscape, character and the purpose of material.
Each artist has summarised their work for the exhibition:

‘Making art from the heart that invites you to ponder’, Sarah L Stewart

‘Bringing colour into the darkness - abstracts and ceramics to brighten the day’, Sabine Wagner

‘Transforming everyday materials into playful, story-rich sculptures’, Nikki Johnston .stewart.visual_artist

Poatina loved having our latest Arts Tasmania AIR, potter Suemi Chiba! Suemi’s residency goal was to start a body of work composed of porcelain moon jars with surface decoration of mishima, sgraffito and underglaze painting that depicts the spirit of Kunyanyi/ Mt Wellington. She also harvested local clay to experiment with 😊
